Are you the owner of (Y Company)? - This question pre-qualifies whether I am speaking to someone who can make decisions on behalf of the company. Make sure you're speaking to a C-Level executive & not trying to pitch a receptionist. If you end up speaking to the receptionist ask to be transferred to the manager or for a better time to call, ideally a time when the manager can take the call. 

This is a cold call, so let me know if you have 1 to 2 minutes to hear me out? - This is one my favourite lines because it pre-qualifies the prospect and makes them curious, all for a small time commitment of 60 to 120 seconds. The added benefit is that there's no way they'll hang up on you mid-call should they agree to hearing out your cold call. 

If the prospect answers YES...

I am calling you regarding our Solar Lead Generation Service. - This is the initiation of my presentation, which I am only giving out if I know that they're down to hear me out and if I know that they're the key-decision maker. 

Our company is able to generate solar leads across the entirety of the UK/US on a performance basis. - This is my offer, I am giving them a risk-free opportunity to have leads generated for them.
